Post X in Antwerp

A total of 130.000 m² surface area above ground, distributed over nine buildings, all around one central courtyard. This masterplan was devised in close collaboration with the city of Antwerp and all stakeholders. The vast majority of the offices are located along the Antwerp ring road. The facility centre, with retail and service possibilities, can be found on the Binnensingel and thus achieves optimal interaction with the neighbourhood. The prestigious office complex combines sustainable offices with optimal visibility. These offices will use just half the energy of standard office buildings. (Source: www.post-xe.be)

Circularity and sustainability

Post X has been realised by Hydro (aluminium company) together with Byldis Facades. Byldis Facades produced and supplied the facades for Post X. Hydro made profiles for this project that are highly insulating and meet standards far above the current norm. As Hydro makes new windows from windows that have already had a life, they produce in a circular way. Sustainability is also standard at Hydro. The company has wind and hydro-electric power stations which means that the new aluminium is produced sustainably.

All parameters were taken into account for this project, from orientation and glazing ratio to the techniques used, such as concrete core activation.
