1. The project: Dreeftoren

Provast and First Sponsor are developing the Dreef Residential Tower in the heart of Southeast, directly opposite the Amsterdam ArenA. A residential tower with 312 flats will be built next to the existing office building. The office tower will be renovated and given a completely new facade.

2. Byldis contribution to this project

For the residential tower, we engineer, produce and assemble the entire prefabricated shell and facades with aluminium facades and aluminium outer structure. For the office tower, we produce and assemble the aluminium facade.

3. Why was Byldis chosen?

Byldis, together with three other (side) contractors and a construction management agency, is taking up this challenge (the new building) in an innovative way. The uniqueness of this project is that a project of this size has never before been carried out in the Netherlands without a major construction main contractor. Through an alternative method of contract formation (side contracting), we took up the gauntlet together with the client and the three side contractors in a constructive manner and came to final contract formation.

4. Challenges & solutions

This new way of working will demand a lot from us in coordination and cooperation with the other subsidiary contractors. However, we know we are ready for this and have made good and constructive contractual arrangements for this. We will make a success of this together, especially as we have looked to each other for cooperation as side contractors.
