1. The project: High Tech Campus Eindhoven, WDX building

Building WDX at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven is the new location of the Philips Centrum Fabricage Technologie and consists of three buildings: a laboratory, an office and a clean-room. There is also a covered outside space. This outside space connects the different buildings with each other via gangway bridges. The total surface area of the building is approx. 22,000 m². It houses several dust and vibration-free rooms and lots of laboratories for physical, electronic and mechanical research, mostly with strict temperature and relative humidity requirements.

2. Byldis contribution to this project

Byldis contribution: The supply and assembly of all aluminium facades for building WDX at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. We also supplied the facade plating and a gangway bridge.

3. Why was Byldis Facades chosen?

Byldis Facades was chosen for the High Tech Campus WDX building project because we provided a suitable solution for supplying a complete window frame including glass, panels and supports. Assembly on site was therefore realised faster than normal, which meant a shorter lead time for the contractor. This special solution made it possible for us to supply a ready-made window frame in the factory.

Special profiles were developed for the frames. They were also glazed in the factory, which is quite exceptional. Completing this component of the ‘assembly’ in the factory means that we are able to guarantee a better quality under factory conditions. It also means that the frames can be installed very quickly on site so that the finishing can be started sooner.

Aluminium cassette facade plating
Aluminium cassette facade plating, with the accompanying sub-construction and insulation, was fitted between the window strips installed by Byldis Facades. An accompanying gangway bridge was also realised with electrically operated windows.
