The master building is located at the corner of Borsbeeksebrug and Binnensingel, an easily accessible location and a great base for the entire city. The building will house more than 2,000 police employees and centralise all policy implementation and support services of the Antwerp Local Police. Reception and district operations are the exception and will continue to be spread across various regional and district offices in the city.

3. Why was Byldis chosen?
Having previously supplied and assembled seven buildings at Post X c.a. 13,000 m2 of facades and curtain walling including structural connections.
4. Challenges & solutions
The challenge was the short lead time, acoustic requirement and small construction site of the 7200m2 curtain wall is and c.a. 270m2 bulletproof. To meet the acoustic and bulletproof requirements, we sought and tested project-specific solutions. We delivered and assembled the curtain wall self-supporting and just-in-time by means of nine pieces of lifting scaffolds with a lifting device on top of the lifting scaffolds that we developed with the supplier of the lifting scaffolds so that we were not dependent on the contractor's crane.
